Is Windows GodMode really GOD mode?

You have most likely already heard about it and probably tested it too.
If you haven’t, its not as fancy as it sounds.

What is it?

The name does not originate from Microsoft, but from bloggers and other community’s. It also goes under another name; “RegistyHACK”.
Basically what it is, is an expanded look of the classical Control Panel.
Or in other words; you get everything in one place.

Expanded Control Panel

But despite it not being something more amazing than that it does have a benefit as you no longer need to search for a specific tool by entering each category. Now you can simply scroll through every tool and not having to enter any folders.

It actually goes all the way back to 2007 from Windows Vista, but was never published by Microsoft itself but was discovered by a user who calls himself “Ramesh”.

How to Create it?

The process is pretty simple and can be executed in two ways.

#1: Via explorer

Right click and create a new folder.
Normally most tutorials on the web tell you that you need to enter the word “GodMode”, but this is not true. You can enter any name you like, so for this article we’ll call it “DigitalBrekke” just because we can.
Name the folder:

any-name-you-want.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

This would create a folder looking like this:

#2: Via command prompt and Powershell

Open cmd or Powershell and type in the following text:

explorer.exe shell:::{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
